Dress Code - Rule |
||
|
The committee has instructed me to clarify to members the salient features of the Dress Code as contained in the Regulations and Bye-Laws of the Club. Dress is informal except from 7.00 pm onwards when Gentlemen shall wear Lounge Suit with Tie & Shirt or Sri Lankan National Dress, and Ladies shall wear suitable attire befitting the attire of Gentlemen. In the case of children over 12 and under 18 years of age, boys shall wear at least a Tie with tucked-in shirt and long or short trousers and girls shall wear an acceptable mode of dress, when utilizing the dining room or other public areas. No Jeans & Shorts neither Sneakers nor Sandals will be permitted to be worn by members in the public areas after this time. This rule will naturally apply to tour guides when accompanying Temporary Members. In order to facilitate its implementation, the Club has available a limited selection of Jackets and Ties on loan to Temporary Members if required. However, the Management reserves the right to assess suitability of attire. Members will no doubt agree that the Dress Code applied after 7.00pm is appropriate wear in the Nuwara Eliya climatic conditions, and will in no way cause discomfort. Further, the dress described for after 7.00pm will add to the elegance for which the Club has been complimented. Stanley M Gooneratne |
